Very rare this early Ludwig & Co Model B double-chain-stitch sewing machine from about 1915. The serial number is 738. This is truly number 738 off the factory. It is rare to find such an early serial number. The machine is complete as far as I can tell but it is stuck. It needs to be restored (cleaned/ loosened). This German quality machine produced in Limbach / Germany.
Glove and leatherworking machines: Ludwig & Co. produced special single-needle double-chain-stitch machines that were essential for making leather gloves.

Museum status: Because the brand is less well known to the general public than, for example, Singer or Pfaff, rare specimens are often treasured by museums for industrial design or sewing machine specialists

Zeer zeldzaam deze vroege Ludwig & Co Model B dubbele kettingsteek naaimachine uit ongeveer 1915. Het serial nummer is 738. Dit is dus echt nummer 738 van de fabriek af. Het is zeldzaam om zo'n vroeg serialnummer te vinden. De machine is compleet voor zover ik kan zien maar zit wel vast. Hij moet gerestaureerd( schoonmaken/ losmaken)  worden. Deze Duitse kwaliteitsmachine geproduceerd in Limbach / Duitsland.
Handschoen- en Leermachines: Ludwig & Co. produceerde speciale 1-naalds dubbele kettingsteekmachines die essentieel waren voor het vervaardigen van lederen handschoenen.

Museumstatus: Omdat het merk minder bekend is bij het grote publiek dan bijvoorbeeld Singer of Pfaff, worden zeldzame exemplaren vaak gekoesterd door musea voor industriële vormgeving of naaimachinespecialisten
