Pair of Art Deco Geometric Marble Bookends - Noir de Golzinne & Grey/White Marble, Belgium, 1920's - 1930's
Magnificent pair of authentic verry heavy Art Deco bookends with a striking geometric, stepped design. These pieces are a perfect example of the architectural "Skyscraper" style popular during the interbellum period.
Expertly crafted from solid marble blocks, featuring a sophisticated contrast between deep black marble (likely 'Noir de Golzinne') and a veined grey-white marble. Significant weight, ensuring stability for large books.
Pure Art Deco with clean, minimalist lines,
Good vintage condition consistent with age and use. No major cracks or restorations. As is common with antique marble, there are some minor chips on the sharp edges and corners (see detailed photos for a full impression, the photos are part of te description).
