Description from the seller
Spanish decorative silver box – marine mythological scene – 1930s–1940s
Elegant and uncommon Spanish decorative silver box, made during the approximate period of 1930–1940, with an extraordinary artistic composition inspired by marine scenes and mythological motifs.
The lid features a refined relief scene where a female figure of mermaid or sea nymph style sits atop a large aquatic creature, accompanied by a secondary character and a seascape of waves. The composition recalls the decorative language of Spanish Art Deco combined with Symbolist and marine influences from the first half of the 20th century.
The interior preserves an attractive gold finish, a detail characteristic of higher-quality and more refined pieces. The sides show carved artisanal decoration rendered with great detail.
A small-format piece but with a very striking artistic presence, ideal for collection, display case, or lovers of antique Spanish silverware.

• Length: 4 cm
• Width: 3.5 cm
• Height: 1.5 cm
• Weight: 37 g
