Description from the seller
Lotto Presentation:
Elegant double-body trumeau cabinet, made in Italy in the mid-20th century in perfect Louis XV style (Baroque taste). The piece features a solid walnut structure, entirely veneered and enriched by refined inlays in maple and fruitwoods.
Structure Analysis:
Upper Section (Alzata): Characterized by a sinuous, broken crest. The two doors feature central inlaid panels with motifs of a 'gallant scene' (figures in bucolic landscapes) surrounded by floral frames. Inside there are shaped shelves.
Middle Section (Ribalta): The fall-front door, also richly inlaid with a central medallion, opens to reveal a small compartment with four small drawers and a central cavity. The writing surface is wide and functional.
Lower Section (Base): Follows the undulating line of the structure with three large front drawers. The base ends with sabre legs typical of the eighteenth-century style.
Technical Details and Condition:
Hardware: Original cast bronze handles and escutcheons with rocaille motifs.
Condition: The piece is in excellent vintage condition. The structure is solid. There are slight and normal signs of wear on the finish and small superficial scratches consistent with its age (visible in the detail photos), which do not detract from its aesthetic value but attest to the authenticity of the period.
Keys: One working key present
