Description from the seller

Elegant round box of Portuguese 833 silver, with a fire-gilded interior / vermeil, crafted with a refined decorative relief work. The lid features a beautiful naturalistic floral composition, with a branch of flowers and leaves modeled in high relief on a dotted background, an ornamental detail that provides depth and an attractive visual effect.

The piece stands out for its sober and harmonious design, typical of 20th-century Portuguese goldsmithing, combining functionality and decorative value. The gilded interior enhances the quality of the piece and better protects the contents, so this type of boxes could be used for chocolates, lozenges, fine tobacco, small sweets, or small jewelry.

It bears Portuguese assay marks, corresponding to 833 silver, confirming its origin and authenticity. Its floral aesthetic and the relief treatment recall the naturalistic taste with Art Nouveau influence, highly valued in decorative silver objects.
