AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Fine Spode porcelain plate – Prince Regent Service for the Royal George Yacht (circa 1817)

Beautiful serving/dinner plate in fine Spode porcelain, made around 1817 as part of the table service commissioned by the Prince Regent (future George IV) for his royal yacht, the Royal George.
The center of the plate features the royal monogram "PR" surmounted by a crown, flanked by laurel branches and fronds, a typical Neoclassical decoration of the Regency era. The rim is adorned with a refined garland of green leaves with gilded berries, a raised gold rope and naval knots (nautical motif perfectly in theme with the royal yacht).
Diameter: 25 cm
Condition:
Excellent overall condition. The plate is intact, with no cracks, chips or visible restorations; the monogram is slightly faded, see the photos. The gilding and colors are fairly well preserved, with only light signs of use and slight traces of wear typical of an object over 200 years old, which confer historical charm without compromising the overall aesthetics. Sharp and bright decors.
A historic piece of great rarity, belonging to a royal service destined for the Prince Regent’s yacht. Similar pieces from this important Spode commission rarely appear on the market and are highly sought after by collectors of Regency English porcelain and items of royal provenance.
