Four-part icon on a gold ground, egg tempera on a chalk ground, Russia, 19th century.

* Top left: the Kazan Mother of God with the Christ Child.
* Top right: the Mother of God, Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows (the Wrath/softening of the hard hearts) with seven swords on the chest.
* Bottom left: Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker with the Gospel and a blessing hand.
* Bottom right: the beheading of John the Baptist – the head of the Saint on a plate.

On the sides there are small depictions of saints. The icon shows signs of age: darkening, loss of color and minor damage.
