Description from the seller
The subject of the auction is an exceptionally colorful, four-piece set of slender cups made of thin-walled porcelain.
Design:
The cups draw the eye with rich, full-surface decoration (the so-called Chintz style). A delicate pattern with a dominant paisley (teardrop) motif and floral elements is rendered in saturated colors: deep burgundy, mustard yellow, gold, and black, contrasting with a light background. A mark of high-quality craftsmanship is the fact that the decal precisely covers not only the cylindrical body of the dishes but also their handle.
Dating and origin:
On the bottom of each piece there is a red signature "MADE IN CEYLON". Since the country officially changed its name to Sri Lanka in 1972, this mark is unequivocal proof that the items were produced before that date – most likely in the 1960s. They are a beautiful example of excellent quality Eastern export porcelain from that period.
Dimensions (per single cup):
Height: 12 cm
Width (including handle): 9 cm
Diameter: 6 cm
Condition:
The set is preserved in excellent vintage condition. The porcelain has no cracks, chips, or noticeable wear. The decorations remain vivid, and the colors are extremely saturated. They make an ideal decorative piece in boho style or a wonderful, functional set for serving coffee or tea.
Please study the photo gallery carefully, as it forms an integral part of the description. I guarantee very safe packing of items for transport.
