Mixed Amber from the Dominican Republic and the Baltic region, AAA quality, 450 cts and weighing 90 g.
Description from the seller
Mixed lot prepared for our followers of the world's finest ambers: Dominican red amber, Baltic amber.
90 grams of high-quality, completely translucent amber.
Dominican red amber is a type of amber with a clear and uncommon coloration. It is found mainly in the amber mines of the mountains near Santiago, Dominican Republic. Commonly known as red shell amber, it acquires its color because it is the first amber extracted, closest to the surface, which is heated the most by the earth. Although little known due to its rarity, it has existed since the discovery of Dominican amber. It reacts to ultraviolet light, as is already known. It is estimated to be between 25 and 44 million years old. Clear as water, completely transparent, a unique piece for collectors, never before auctioned on Catawiki, and of high quality. I must also confess its scarcity.
Baltic amber of great transparency and quality. This amber, from Poland, is over 35-40 million years old. Its quality makes it one of the most select and exclusive in the world, on par with Mexican or Dominican amber. A truly beautiful piece for a very valuable collection.
