Description from the seller

They are two pewter vases that stand out for their quality of manufacture and for the fidelity with which they reinterpret the Neoclassical language in mid-20th century Portugal. The Artesano 99% mark confirms a high-purity pewter alloy, something very characteristic of the era’s most carefully produced Portuguese manufacturing, where the metal was worked with a mix of industrial precision and manual finishing.

Each piece presents an elegant, well-proportioned conical-ovoid body, its sides molded with a spiral fluting that adds dynamism without compromising classical serenity. That helicoidal relief, deep and regular, creates an attractive play of light, making the metal seem almost animated when lit from the side.

The domed caps, decorated with the same spiral molding, crown the composition with formal coherence. The small top finial in the shape of a urn acts as a direct nod to the Neoclassical repertoire: sober, symbolic, balanced.

Together, they are vases that combine weight, presence, and refinement, perfect as standalone decorative pieces or as a symmetrical pair on a console, fireplace, or sideboard. They very well represent that Lusitanian-Iberian tradition of mid-20th century that managed to update classical languages without losing their essence.
