Italian-made in the 1940s in Tuscany, inspired by a 17th-century model, hence the M.D.C.V stamp (1605).
Beautiful ornamented pillar with volute decorations. At its end: a hook supporting the weighing system (graduated arm, pan and weights).
The hexagonal base contains sand or gravel to ballast the entire piece and provide the necessary stability for use.
The mass of the product is measured by moving the weight along the graduated arm until the whole assembly is perfectly balanced.
