Description from the seller

Shield-shaped table lamp – Hand-carved and leaf-gilded wood – Baroque style – Italy, late 19th / early 20th century
Fascinating table lamp created in the 20th century by reusing an antique decorative element in carved and gilt wood. The base, clearly Baroque-inspired, features a volute structure with lion's paw feet and a central raised decoration (masque or stylized coat of arms).

Technical and Construction Details
Base: Hand-carved wood with gold leaf finish and bole preparation. The patina of time is evident and gives the piece an authentic, historic charm.

Paralume: Shield-shaped shade, covered in damask fabric with raised floral motifs in gold and bronze tones, finished with golden trim along the edges.

Electrical: The lamp was electrified later (mid-20th century). It has a socket with a faux candle and a decorative filament bulb (included). The wiring is vintage but functional (a technical review for compliance with modern standards is recommended).

Dimensions
Total height: 64 cm
Shade width: 40 cm
Base depth: 20 cm

Condition
The item is in good vintage condition, with the normal signs of wear that attest to its originality:
- Wood: Small losses of gilding and plaster preparatiom (visible in photos), typical of antique gilded wood furnishings.
- Fabric: The shade shows some slight wear or staining due to age, which do not affect the overall aesthetics but add character to the piece.
- Structure: Solid and stable.
