Description from the seller
Important Italian liturgical pisside in nickel-silver metal with silver plating, dating from the late 19th century, characterized by extraordinary ornamental richness and a scenographic presence of great elegance. It comes from an ancient private chapel belonging to an important historic residence in Northern Italy, a detail that further enhances its charm and collectible appeal.
The work presents a refined Neoclassical structure with a wide base finely decorated with vegetal motifs and angel reliefs with high plastically, details that give the whole piece strong personality and aesthetic quality. The slender stem harmoniously guides toward the central cup, adorned with a polished shiny gold interior, still magnificently preserved today.
The original lid culminates with a radiated cross of 19th-century ecclesiastical taste, an element that adds further grandeur and verticality to the composition. Also beautiful are the ornamental motifs with ovals and rosettes along the upper edge and the central knot, executed with excellent decorative precision.
The surface preserves a splendid patina of time, with natural signs of oxidation and light wear of the plating consistent with the era and absolutely compatible with the object's authentic charm. Interior of the cup particularly bright and well preserved.
Significant dimensions: height 28.5 cm, width 11.2 cm, inner cup diameter 10 cm. Weight 605 grams.
Object of great charm for sacred art collectors, but perfect also as a decorative element in classical interiors, professional studies, antique libraries or elegant residences. Beautiful when placed in a ecclesiastical collection together with reliquaries, altar crosses, and liturgical candlesticks.
The photos are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packing entrusted to industry professionals.
