Art Deco pâte de verre glass vase dating from the 1920s, attributed to Charles Schneider, multicoloured, 23 cm high, 9 cm wide, 12.5 cm deep, 12.5 cm diameter, signed Schneider at the base, Belgium origin, in good condition with minor signs of age and spots.
Description from the seller
This Art Deco vase, attributed to Charles Schneider and dating from the 1920s, is made in the so-called “pâte de verre” (glass paste) technique, a method in which finely ground glass powder is fused into a decorative object.
The vase features an elegant, slender goblet-shaped form with a broad, gently flaring rim and rests on a rounded foot. The color palette is boldly vibrant and characteristic of Schneider's style: a combination of deep cobalt blue at the rim, subtly transitioning into shades of blue, pink, white, and hints of yellow, with the color gradations appearing to be brushed in a vertical motion.
This color combination gives the object a dynamic and almost impressionistic character, with a play of light and color typical of the Art Deco era. The vase is mouth-blown and bears a mark.
Marked with Schneider on the bottom of the vase.
