Viking Age twisted bracelet – 9th to 11th century AD.
Bronze bracelet with a twisted shaft and slightly thickened ends. The spiral twist is evenly executed and gives the piece a clear sculptural structure, characteristic of Nordic metalwork of the Viking Age. The surface shows an attractive, age-related dark patina.
Such twisted arm rings are among the classic jewellery forms of the Viking era. They served not only as personal adornment but often also as a visible symbol of power and portable wealth.
