Description from the seller

Art Nouveau amethyst glass bowl

Renowned Bohemian glass manufacturer Moser, made in Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) around 1920.

These bowls are characteristic of the transitional period from Art Nouveau to Art Deco

Material: hand-blown, facet-cut crystal glass in a deep violet shade (amethyst).

Technique: The surrounding gold band is called Oroplastik. This is an acid-etched relief that is subsequently gold-plated. Moser patented this technique in 1919.

Motif: The frieze typically depicts classical scenes with Greco-Roman motifs, such as Amazons, warriors, chariots, or musicians.
