Description from the seller
Gold-Tone Brass Vintage Wall Light with Faceted Crystal Cut – Palwa Style, circa 1970
Decorative circular grille piece with faceted crystal roundels
This vintage wall light features an iconic Palwa-style design from the 1960s–70s, characterized by the repetition of golden circular rings that support faceted round crystals. The grid-like composition creates a rich, sparkling luminous effect typical of glamorous mid-century European pieces.
The gold-tone brass frame showcases a warm, elegant glow, while the carefully cut crystals amplify the light and add visual depth. The ensemble results in a decorative piece with strong presence, ideal for sophisticated interiors that value sculptural lighting.
Attribution and Probable Origin
Although the design clearly nods to the Palwa universe, the most likely attribution is artisanal production from the Bohemian region, specifically the glass cooperatives of Kamenický Šenov or Železný Brod, known for excellence in crystal work during the 1960s–80s.
These Czech manufactories produced pieces of high quality inspired by the great German names, maintaining the same visual impact but with their own technical signature.
It will be packaged with great care and shipped with tracking. The tracking will be updated on your Catawiki purchase page; please check regularly to avoid the package being returned to me, in which case the buyer will be responsible for the cost of any additional shipping.
