Cuckoo clocks, as a characteristic German cultural asset, are worldwide known as intricately decorated objects whose design draws on forest or hunting themes. Traditionally they are made mainly in the Black Forest. They are often wall clocks whose mechanical pendulum works with a chain drive and striking mechanism, just like this cuckoo clock offered here.

This cuckoo clock features
- an 8-day movement
- the hand-carved cuckoo, which mechanically jumps out of the little house on the half and on the hour and loudly calls his cry. It can also be “stopped” by closing the door with the small hook above the door.
- hand-carved decorative parts
- the pendulum, which keeps the clock running and continually sets the tempo
- the two pine cone weights, which together weigh 2,543 grams, attached to the chains that drive the clock and the strike/cuckoo.
The entire cuckoo clock is made of wood and the adornments are hand-carved. The real cuckoo is modeled after a real bird. The sound of the cuckoo is pleasant and not too loud. But it can be turned off as well.
The total weight of the complete cuckoo clock with weights is about 3,862 g, i.e. almost 4 kilos – without packaging, of course!
The condition is very good. I found no age-related signs of wear.
The time is set by the new owner themselves; simply rotate the minute hand clockwise until the desired time is set.
NEVER turn the clock hands counterclockwise, or the clockwork may be damaged!!!

The clocks are tested for a few days; they all work very well.
We are not clockmakers, but we know that all clocks require maintenance after some time. We have cleaned the clock, removed dust and overhauled it.
When we offer a clock for sale, it has run for weeks; beyond that we know nothing and therefore cannot provide support for putting it into operation.
You only need to unpack the clock, hang it straight on a wall. The chain run should be easy, then hang the weights and the pendulum.
The chain rings are wound so that the weights sit back under the clock case.

For shipping, the chains are fixed so they cannot hang loose in the case.
The cuckoo is unscrewed and packed separately, as are the pendulum and weights.

It was made in Germany in the second half of the 20th century, since 1750. Linden/birch wood.
The hand-carved decorations in the shape of the cuckoo and oak leaves are mounted as decoration. It is a mechanical clock with two weights and internal gears, as well as the pendulum.
The clock runs without sticking. It has been professionally cleaned.
Every half hour the gong sounds, and at the same time the door opens and the cuckoo appears and delivers the ever-popular cuckoo call.
