Collection of 29 shells/cowries, from Madagascar, all in excellent structural condition, with no breaks, faults, etc.; some show wear on the shine, but are few.
Tiger Cowry (Cypraea tigris): Easily identified by the larger shells, white or beige, covered with dark rounded spots that resemble the pattern of a leopard or tiger.
Arabian Cowry (Mauritia arabica): Characterized by denser, more intricate patterns that can resemble calligraphy or characters, usually with brown and cream tones.
Common Sea Cowry (Caurim): There are smaller specimens present, which may include species such as Cypraea moneta or Cypraea annulus, traditionally known as cowries used in rituals or as currency in historical times.
