Description from the seller
PALESTINE. 5 Mils. 1946.
- Value: 5 Mils.
- Year: 1946.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: PALESTINE · פלשתינה (א״י) · فلسطين around a vegetal wreath; date 1946 and ١٩٤٦ at the bottom. Reverse: 5 MILS · חמישה מיל · خمسة مِلّ arranged circularly around the central hole; perimetral beaded edge.
- Grading: UNC Detail (PCGS).
5 Mils coin in a base alloy with the characteristic central hole, a distinctive feature of the British Mandate emissions in Palestine. The design features a crown of stylized branches on the obverse and the face value in three languages — English, Hebrew and Arabic — reflecting the complex administrative and cultural reality of the territory. The relieves are well defined with little wear, preserving full details in leaves and typography. A representative specimen of the last issues before the end of the Mandate in 1948, during a period of intense political transformation in the region.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
