The Matterhorn at sunset 1951 gelatin silver print - vintage 23.5 x 17.7 cm; on the back, stamp "Vico D'Incerti".
Vico d'Incerti, an amateur photographer, engineer and collector of photographs on silent cinema, was one of Italy's most famous amateur photographers since the early 1920s, when, barely eighteen, he developed a passion for photography and took part in numerous national and international competitions, winning many of them, including Taormina, Carpi, Genoa, Stresa, and many others.
He first collaborated with the magazine Corriere Fotografico, then with Progresso Fotografico, continuing to photograph even during his engineering career at Magneti Marelli, Motta, Ferrania, etc., etc...
A book has been written about Vico d'Incerti, "Vico d'Incerti - Un secolo d'amore, di politica e di industria", written by Nunzia Manicardi.
