Rare monumental glazed ceramic lidded tureen by Schneider Steffisburg in Switzerland, hand-decorated in cobalt blue and forest green, 50 cm wide by 30 cm high, dating to 1960–1970, with excellent condition and three minor 2–3 mm chips on the inner rim of the lid (invisible when closed).

Item Description
A stunning and imposing glazed ceramic tureen (or monumental vessel) crafted by the renowned Swiss manufacture Schneider in Steffisburg. This piece represents a masterful example of mid-20th-century Swiss artistic ceramics.
The object is entirely hand-decorated with rich traditional and folkloric iconography, featuring knights, finely harnessed horses, and lush floral motifs. The color palette is dominated by a deep, lustrous cobalt blue and forest green tones, providing extraordinary elegance and visual depth. The intricate decoration covers the entire surface, including the inside of the lid and the inner bottom of the bowl.
Given its scale and the high quality of execution, this was most likely intended as an exhibition piece or a high-end decorative centerpiece.

Markings: "Schneider Steffisburg" incised on the base along with the manufacturer's monogram.
Condition: The overall condition is excellent; the glaze retains its original brilliance. There are only three minor chips (approximately 2-3 mm each) located on the inner rim of the lid. These marks are completely invisible when the tureen is closed and do not compromise its aesthetics or structural integrity.
