Description from the seller
This Comtoise clock dates from the late 19th century and has stood the test of time. Notable features of this clock are the dial and the pendulum.
The dial is made of alabaster and has enamel cartouches with black Roman numerals. Around the dial is a brass rim with a few dents on the left and right.
Behind the dial is a thin copper plate with raised images. At the bottom, for example, the "Horn of Plenty" can be found. The images are partly dented.
The pendulum has a large brass lens with a diameter of 27.5 cm. Above the lens is a large lyre-shaped ornament. The "pendulum rod" consists of five twisted metal bars with four brass bars in between.
The clock functions perfectly and has the typical Comtoise feature of repeating the number of hourly strikes after two minutes. For winding the weights there is no key but a winding crank.
The clock can be picked up in Almere. Shipping is carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
