Description from the seller
Suspended console in precious walnut wood with solid brass detailing.
Italian manufacture, second half of the 1940s
Made from fine walnut wood, it is characterized by a morphology called a "Violin" on the resting surface. At the center of the concave profile, a small storage drawer is embellished with a trapezoidal knob in solid brass.
The evidently curved friezes are delineated at the top by Tuscan capitals and converge at the lower end, connected by a stylized finishing.
Always housed in a noble residence and part of furnishings in rooms intended for guests, it has never been used.
Considering that this piece was produced in the immediate post-Second World War period, its condition is to be considered excellent and as new, i.e. free of any imperfections or deficiencies.
Bare, austere yet at the same time extremely refined, sinuous and elegant in its shapes, today it can be safely used as an ornament to enrich any type of environment.
Rare to find on the antique and design market, it testifies to research and design experimentation of what is today identified as the Mid Century Modern style, characterized by Minimalism, Functionality, Clean Lines and elegance.
Accompanying it will be original, suitable attribution documentation drawn up by Studio Peritale Diagnostico Alfredo Verdi Demma with offices in Milan, Viterbo and Parma.
Specific Dimensions:
Total height cm. 54.5
Height of concave profile cm. 7.5
Depth cm. 23.5
Maximum width cm. 49.5
