Description from the seller
1965 Ford Mustang Fastback: 289 V8 4-Speed | A-Code | Factory Drivetrain
Body & Paint:
Presented in striking red, this first-generation Mustang fastback carries its paint in very good condition overall. Minor imperfections consistent with a 60-year-old car are present up close, but from any normal viewing distance the car presents beautifully. Chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are all in good order.
Please refer to the pictures to assess condition.
Technical Condition:
The VIN (5F09A722227) confirms this as a genuine factory A-code car, meaning it left Dearborn with the 289 cubic inch 4-barrel V8 as standard equipment, not an upgrade or engine swap. The drivetrain is believed to be the original unit the car was built with, making this a remarkably honest, unmodified classic. The 289 4V pulls strongly and runs well. There is minor oil seepage present, as is common on engines of this age, but nothing affecting driveability. The 4-speed manual gearbox shifts cleanly through all gears. Brakes and suspension are in good working order. The dual redline sidewall tires are in good condition. The underside, as shown in the photos taken on the lift, is clean and solid. The car has recently passed the Dutch technical inspection necessary for obtaining the Dutch registration.
Interior:
The cabin presents well for its age. The wood-rimmed GT steering wheel is a period-correct and highly desirable feature, and the five-gauge instrument cluster reads correctly across all dials. The interior shows honest wear appropriate to a 60-year-old American classic; nothing that detracts from the experience, everything that adds to the character. Most electricals are functioning, including gauges, lights and switches.
Documentation:
The car is registered in the Netherlands and comes with a Dutch kentekenbewijs.
A full walkaround video can be provided.

Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
