Isa Genzken signed first edition of Urlaub, a 140-page softcover art book originally in German with English text, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
Welcome to certainly one of this year’s highlights at Catawiki, regarding "signed art books"; originating, on the one hand, from the estate of Karl Geyer! An art collector from Jülich who, in almost 75 years, amassed about 100,000 drawings, autographs, art books, and objects, and who befriended many artists along the way, such as Gerhard Richter, Otto Piene, Janosch, Günther Uecker, and many others!
And on the other hand from my private collection, which I was able to assemble over many years.
In this auction, 100 hand-signed and partly even painted art and photography books by international artists are offered, for example by
- Gerhard Richter
- David Hockney
- Ellsworth Kelly
- Georg Baselitz
- Cornelia Schleime
- Wolfgang Tillmans
- Martin Eder
- Andreas Gursky
- Bridget Riley
- Wolfgang Mattheuer
- Bernhard Heisig
- Thomas Ruff
- Bernard Aubertin
- Anselm Kiefer
- Gunther Sachs
- Richard Long
and many more, with a starting minimum bid of Euro 100.00.
Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to acquire signed books by artists who are sometimes already deceased and possess legendary status!
Here we offer:
ISA GENZKEN
(World-famous German performance artist and painter. One of the most expensive and most established living female artists of the present; ex-wife of Gerhard Richter! Recently seriously ill, autographs from her are no longer available, as she lives very withdrawn from the public and her gallery in Berlin also no longer fulfills signature requests!)
For the exhibition at the Frankfurter Kunstverein from 27.05. – 06.08.2000, with the same-named title, an extensively illustrated but in format small limited book was published, rarely still obtainable, with the title
URLAUB
