Description from the seller

Rare Antique Walking Cane in Natural Amber, 800 Silver, and Malacca - Late 19th Century
Splendid and elegant walking cane dating to the end of the 19th century (full Belle Époque period), a piece of rare availability due to the combination of noble materials and excellent craftsmanship.

Natural Amber Grip: Duck-bill shaped handle made from authentic amber. The material shows extraordinary luster and the typical inclusions that certify its organic origin. When held to the light, it reveals warm hues ranging from honey yellow to cherry red. (Authenticity has been verified through electrostatic tests.)

Sterling Silver 800 verified by a jeweler. The joining collar is in 800 silver, decorated with a refined hand-engraved monogram. The period calligraphic engraving adds a touch of history and personalized prestige.

Shaft in Malacca: The shaft is made of high-quality Malacca wood, renowned for its lightness and unmistakable natural grain. It features the characteristic visible knot, a sign of value for this type of wood.

The cane ends with its original metal tip, preserving the integrity of the shaft.

The item is in overall excellent condition considering its age. The amber shows some small natural chippings due to the intrinsic fragility of the millennial material, which confirm its authenticity and do not compromise its aesthetic and collecting value. Original patina never polished.

This cane is not merely an accessory, but a true status symbol of the past. The presence of substantial natural amber, together with 800 silver and Malacca, places it in a high market tier for canephilia (walking-stick collecting).
