Description from the seller
19th-century commode in fruitwood
Dark patina, finished with a flaming/flamed veneer for a rich, dark appearance
Three spacious drawers with decorative brass handles
Tapering legs
The key is mainly decorative because the lock no longer works
One leg sits a bit inward but was professionally fixed
With the commode I include FOR FREE a replica of a winter landscape by Barend Koekoek (1803-1862) from the same period as the commode.
Barend Koekoek's nickname was "the Dutch Prince of winter landscapes"
Oil painting on canvas.
Together this makes a very beautiful whole.
Exterior dimensions: 76 x 59 cm
Canvas: 56 x 39 cm
Depth: 4.80 cm
Original: The painting "Winter Landscape" was painted in 1837 and is in the collection of the Teylers Museum or the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Reproductions: This specific image is often sold as a reproduction (oil on canvas or print) in a classical frame.
