This is rare yellow agate belongs to Neo Assyrian period (900-650)B.C,, this seal depicting gods of Mesopotamia,(the god who stand behind the bull (in the right), and holding a large ring in his hands is god adad ... Adad (Ishkur) is a Mesopotamian storm god of rain and thunder, symbolized by the bull and lightning.and another god who stand behind a dragon is Marduk,,Marduk is Chief god of Babylon, symbolized by the dragon Mushussu, representing power and order.and the man who stand between these two god probably a king or even the owner of the cylinder seal .this seals belongs to a us collector who buy I in 1984 from another us collector that he achieved in 1977.The seller can prove that the lot obtained legally.
