GHAZNY - Carpet - 209 cm - 168 cm

These pieces are crafted by knotters of Afghan origin, whose designs echo the patterns of the most important examples of Caucasian production from past centuries. The main element that characterizes them is the materials used for knotting. They are Ghazny spun wool dyed by hand following traditional methods and using natural-origin dyes. This gives the finished rug a distinctive patina and an uneven coloration that becomes an additional and fundamental decorative element. The vibrant border motifs and the bicromic treatment of the Shirazes are particularly splendid.
