Hand-Painted Antique Venetian Coffee Table from the Late 18th Century
Refined Venetian table from the end of the 1700s, entirely hand-painted, an example of elegant lagunarian decorative art. The shaped top with chamfered corners is enriched by a rich multicolored decoration depicting large flowers in reds and gold, intertwined with dark green foliage and birds arranged in a mirrored composition, all enclosed by a geometric border along the edge.
The undersurface band, also finely decorated with volutes and ornamental motifs on an ochre background, features a small central knob that conceals an interior storage compartment. The turned and shaped central stem is fully painted with stylized floral elements, resting on three sinuous, arched legs, in continuity with the overall ornamental scheme.
