Description from the seller
The Mamiya RB67 is one of the most iconic and respected medium format cameras in the history of professional photography. Produced by the Japanese Mamiya starting in the 1970s, it became famous for its extraordinary image quality, extremely robust construction, and the highly versatile modular system. The name “RB” stands for “Rotating Back,” referring to the famous rotating back that allows quickly switching from horizontal to vertical format without having to rotate the entire camera.
The RB67 uses 120 or 220 medium format film and produces large negatives, capable of offering a level of detail, tonal depth, and photographic quality significantly superior to classic 35mm. The body is large, heavy, and very imposing, a feature that makes it instantly recognizable and particularly loved in professional photography studios. The viewfinder, as can be seen from the photos, has missing parts. the shutter is missing
Completely mechanical in its main versions, the Mamiya RB67 requires a slow and precise approach to photography. Every phase of the shot, from focusing to arming the shutter, happens manually, offering a very technical and engaging photographic experience. The integrated bellows also enable extremely accurate focusing, very useful for portrait, still life, and macro photography.
