Tea caddy/ box - Porcelain - Kangxi (1662-1722)

Beautiful blue-and-white Chinese porcelain tea caddy, made in Jingdezhen during the Kangxi period (1662–1722). The vessel is decorated with prunus and cracked ice pattern, symbolising the end of winter. The base is marked with a double ring. The hallmarked silver mount, bearing a sword mark, is a later Dutch addition dating to the 19th century. The mount features a repoussé and engraved floral pattern that complements the decoration on the vessel very well. Overall, very high quality and of unusually large size.

Condition: excellent, with only very minor wear and scratches consistent with age (see photographs).
