A massive cabinet mineral specimen from the Dreislar Mine in the Sauerland region, Germany, featuring baryte crystals on matrix with pyrite and chalcopyrite, weighing 2475 g and measuring 24 cm high, 15 cm wide and 6 cm deep.
Description from the seller
A massive and highly aesthetic cabinet specimen from the world-famous Dreislar Mine in the Sauerland region, Germany. This impressive piece weighs nearly 2.5 kg and features a vertical growth of classic, tabular white Baryte crystals.
The matrix is densely covered with a rich mineralization of metallic Pyrite and iridescent Chalcopyrite . The visual contrast between the snowy white, bladed Baryte aggregates and the sparkling golden sulfides is exceptional. Dreislar is a closed locality (mining ceased in 2007), making large, high-quality specimens like this increasingly difficult to find on the market.
Minerals: Baryte (Schwerspat), Pyrite, Chalcopyrite.
Origin: Dreislar Mine, Sauerland, Germany.
Weight: 2475 g.
Dimensions: 24 cm (Height) x 15 cm (Width) x 6 cm (Depth).
Crystal Habit: Tabular/Bladed Baryte, Cubic Pyrite, and Tetragonal Chalcopyrite.
Condition:
Excellent display quality with a very stable structure. The metallic luster of the "Cu-Crystals" (Chalcopyrite) and Pyrite is well-preserved. Comes with the original collector's label dated November 7, 1993
