Tool Art Nouveau - Button hook - Victorian

An object curious and fascinating, indispensable in an era when elegance reigned supreme.

The button hook was used daily to fasten the numerous tiny buttons of gloves and boots, making a gesture that at the time was part of daily routine easier.
This specimen has the peculiarity of presenting the handle entirely in 950 silver, as attested by the related French hallmark (Minerva head with the number 1 in the upper right), visible in the photo. On the handle are also the initials "L C", probably belonging to its original owner.

The conditions are excellent, with a patina consistent with the age of the object. It can be placed squarely in the Victorian era and is still perfectly usable.
