Interesting seal with standing figures at an offering table. Cylindrical mold with important engraved figures. This tool was used to seal many products and to guarantee authenticity and quality. It was also used in temples for rituals.
Country: Euphrates/Tigris area.
Culture: Mesopotamia.
Dating: 3rd-1st millennium BCE.
Dimensions: H. 2.5 cm. W. 3.4 cm.
Material: Shell
Provenance: Purchased in the 1950s in the Middle East. Private collection owner of the antique and carpet shop Persepolis The Hague 2021. Submitted by the family to a Dutch auction house in 2022.
Sold by the auction house in 2023
