AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Kardon camera, made in the United States.

An extremely rare camera, a special copy of the Leica Barnack, intended for military use and produced during World War II. This specimen, serial number 410, dates from the very beginning of its production and is therefore extremely rare.

The camera is in excellent working condition. Tests have shown that the shutter speeds are normal, that the levers and knobs function properly, and that the shutter curtain is flat and operates normally.

The only defect is that the leather covering of the body has retracted and peeled away. The outer body shows no dents or scratches. The yellow dot is sharp, and focusing works normally.

The silvered 35 mm Kardon rangefinder camera, manufactured by the Premier Instrument Company in the United States, was a Leica development created for the United States Army Signal Corps during World War II. The total production of this camera was extremely low (about 750 units only), and the vast majority were intended for military use.
