Description from the seller

Title: Vintage Wall-Mounted Rack & Pinion Corkscrew - Cast Iron - 20th Century

Up for auction is a magnificent and fully operational vintage wall-mounted corkscrew, featuring a classic rack-and-pinion (crémaillère) mechanical system. This type of heavy-duty bottle opener was traditionally used in European bistros, wine cellars, and bars to uncork bottles quickly and with minimal effort.

The piece comes complete with its original, detached T-handle hand corkscrew, which is rare to find still paired together.

How it works:
1. Manually twist the T-handle spiral completely into the wine bottle cork.
2. Lift the long lever arm to lower the geared shaft.
3. Hook the T-handle into the moving bracket slot.
4. Rest the bottleneck on the curved bottom support.
5. Push the lever down; the gear mechanism engages the rack, smoothly pulling the cork out using mechanical leverage.

Condition:
Perfect working order. The mechanical movement is fluid, and the gear teeth are fully intact with no missing parts or structural damage. The metal body has developed a beautiful, uniform rustic patina with minor surface oxidation that highlights its authentic vintage charm and age.

Specifications:
- Type: Wall-mounted mechanical corkscrew (Tire-bouchon mural à crémaillère)
- Material: Heavy cast metal (Iron/Bronze alloy)
- Components: Wall mount base with lever + independent T-handle spiral
- Operation: 100% functional
- Estimated Period: Mid-20th Century

A fantastic functional item for a home bar, wine collector, or as a striking decorative rustic piece.

Please examine the high-resolution photographs carefully to assess the exact aesthetic condition and patina details.

Dimensions : 38 cm × 8 cm × 8 cm

The product will be professionally packed and sent safely to your address by local post.
The pictures of the product are made with the highest possible resolution, precisely to capture possible small defects (small scratches, stains, defect), the pictures are part of the product description.
