Description from the seller
The chair is an authentic vintage Werzalit industrial stool, produced in France during the 1950s/60s
Design Features
Seat: Made of pressed wood with Werzalit patent imprint. This material guarantees very high resistance to scratches, heat, and liquids. laminated stampings (laminates) identify the specific and exclusive patented Werzalit industrial technology used to produce furnishings components like the seat of this stool.
What is the molding process (Moulage)?
Composition: Fine wood chips selected and densely mixed with thermosetting synthetic resins.
Production: The mixture is placed into steel molds and compacted at very high pressure and elevated temperatures.
Result: A single, monolithic piece (no joints or glued edges) that is extremely compact and robust.
Material Properties
Thanks to this method, the stool seat offers exceptional characteristics:
- Total impermeability to liquids and ambient humidity
- Chemical resistance to solvents, mild acids, cigarette burns, and extreme heat
- Scratch-resistant and impact-resistant surface that preserves the wood grain over time
Structure: Robust metal tubular base with a central stem painted gray.
Origin Label: The yellowed paper sticker bears the inscription "FRANCE & ÉTRANGER" along with the legal wording "Déposé" (registered trademark), typical of industrial patents and mid-20th-century metal furniture.
Mechanical Structure: The multi-tube parallel and closely spaced configuration suggests a foldable structure, with a reinforced joint
Mechanism: Manual height adjustment system via a metal lever located beneath the seat
Base: Curved feet provided with plastic protective end caps to avoid scratching surfaces.
