Around 1900 production started in Germany. Similar to tin figures, it covered an enormous thematic range, but it primarily represented military toys. Accessories such as vehicles were mostly made of sheet metal, occasionally there were mixed forms, for example tin carriages with crew and horses made of composition. Since other manufacturers mostly adhered to Hausser’s scale, the products were often interchangeable. As many manufacturers did not specialize only in military toys but also depicted organizations and leadership personnel of the NS regime in their figures, resuming production after World War II in all occupied zones of Germany was difficult.
