Description from the seller
Art Nouveau jardinière with iridescent hand-blown glass and figure – ca. 1900
An exceptionally decorative and characterful Art Nouveau object from the early 20th century, executed in the typ‑ical Jugendstil formal language.
The piece is equipped with a richly decorated metal frame with a beautiful patina, in which an elegant female figure and refined floral ornamentation are integrated. The natural aging gives the whole a warm and authentic appearance.
The object features an original hand-blown glass insert in a deep blue color. The glass shows a distinct iridescent (oil-slick) sheen, visible under different lighting conditions — a technique characteristic of high-quality glass from the Art Nouveau period.
The slightly irregular, organic edge of the glass confirms the artisanal craftsmanship and contributes to the object's unique character.
Provenance: probably Central Europe (Bohemia / Austria)
Period: ca. 1890–1910
Condition: good condition with normal signs of use consistent with age
A particularly decorative and collectible object that perfectly reflects the essence of Art Nouveau.
Safely packed for shipping.
For shipments to islands or outside Europe on request.
