Koploper. For the modernization of fast passenger transport, the Dutch Railways needed new material in the mid-70s. In the densely populated country, flexibly usable trains were needed to handle traffic in the centers of concentration areas. Therefore, from 1977 to 1994 in total 144 train sets of the Koploper family were put into service that can be quickly uncoupled and coupled at stations. Because of its distinctive appearance, the Koploper earned its tough and special name.
