Description from the seller
Rare Set of 12 Dinner Knives + Serving Knife "Étoile St. Étienne" – Ebony Handles – France, circa 1950/1960
Description:
Splendid and elegant vintage complete table service for 12 people, including a large coordinated serving knife (total 13 pieces). Produced in the historic capital of French cutlery, Saint-Étienne.
Handles material: Fine solid ebony wood, characterized by an intense natural black color and very fine grain. The handles feature a beautiful geometric faceted design in Mid-Century Modern style.
Blades: Stainless steel (Acier Inoxydable), stamped with the original brand "Étoile St. Étienne". The blades are of the "Lame Souple" type (flexible blade), a highly sought technical feature that provides excellent elasticity during cutting or use for spreading, without risking scratching the dishes.
Ferrules (Collars): Splendidly worked with geometric motifs that elegantly join the blade to the handle.
Precise measurements:
12 table knives: Total length about 24.5 cm (Blade: ~13.5 cm / Handle: ~11 cm).
1 large serving knife: Total length over 32 cm (Blade: ~21 cm).
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Blades are shiny and free of chevrons/pitting, ebony handles are solid, stable, and free of obvious cracks. The set is sold loose (without original box).
SHIPPING NOTE: We offer careful and trackable shipping. WARNING: We do not ship to non-Italian islands (e.g., Corsica, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Azores, Guadeloupe, etc.). Any offers coming from these destinations will be canceled or extra shipping costs will be entirely borne by the buyer.
