Description from the seller
The Dual CS 704 is a high-quality, direct-drive turntable from the late 1970s (ca. 1976–1979) featuring an electronically controlled EDS motor that ensures an extremely stable speed and a quiet running. The medium-weight tonearm is height-adjustable, allowing the vertical tracking angle (VTA) to be adjusted for different cartridges or records of varying thickness – such as shellac discs. This ensures optimal positioning of the stylus in the groove, which can improve sound quality.
The unit is equipped with a Dual DMS 210 cartridge delivering a warm and clear sound. Alternatively, the Shure V15 Type III can be used – one of the leading hi-fi cartridges of the 1970s. In addition, using a Shure VN78E stylus enables playback of shellac records (78 RPM); for this, set the turntable’s speed selector to 78 RPM (see manual).
The turntable also features gold-plated RCA connections that ensure reliable signal transmission.
The device is supplied complete with the original operating manual and further original documentation.
