Terrestrial globe by Ludwig Julius Heymann, Berlin, dating to circa 1885, made of papier-mâché with a walnut wood base and brass components, 44 cm high and 25 cm in diameter, in good condition with minor signs of aging; features 12 lithographed and coloured paper segments, a working compass and clear glass, original surface and detailed cartography.

Terrestrial Globe by Ludwig Julius Heymann, Berlin, ca 1885
Museum-grade condition: exceptionally well preserved, with only minimal signs of age consistent with its period. Original surface intact, vivid colors, and cartographic details perfectly legible. Structurally solid and stable, with no invasive restorations. A highly attractive collector’s piece, ideal for display in private collections, studies, or refined antique interiors.
The version made in Berlin is the oldest of Heymann's production, the globe is composed of 12 lithographed and coloured paper segments on papier-mache, brass and turned wood base, complete with working compass, the glass is clear and there is no fog.
Every part is original.
Heymann globes are highly prized by collectors and feature very detailed and high quality cartography.
