Flair - Table mirror - ABS - SPACE AGE

Table mirror lamp « Flair » in molded ABS, produced in the 1970s in a Space Age style emblematic of Italian design of that period. This multifunction model combines illuminated mirror, built-in storage and a stand for makeup accessories in an egg-shaped silhouette that is particularly expressive. Its futuristic aesthetic, dominated by the white and orange-red contrasts, fully evokes the pop and experimental domestic universe of the seventies.

The structure adopts a flattened spherical shape resting on a circular pedestal. The round mirror is framed by a retroilluminated perforated ring emitting a warm, uniform light. The tilting base reveals a large built-in storage compartment, lined with a translucent red peripheral tray. A removable stand perforated with six openings allows for the reception of accessories or vials. The curved lines, glossy plastics and the play of transparency give the whole a sculptural presence typical of European Space Age design.

The piece is in generally good condition. The lighting system is functional and the mirror retains good legibility. There are some signs of wear, rubbing and small superficial marks on the shell and plastic elements, consistent with the object's age. The original removable stand is present, as is the electrical wiring.

During the 1960s-1970s, the Flair brand developed domestic production inspired by the new modern lifestyles and the futuristic aesthetic then fashionable in Italy and Europe. The use of molded plastics, organic shapes and combined functions fit into the lineage of creations by designers such as Joe Colombo or Luigi Colani, who at the time helped to profoundly renew contemporary interior design.
