An Art Deco pair of solid silver napkin rings in 950 silver, MONSIEUR and MADAME, total weight 66 g, each about 6.2 × 2.2 × 2.2 cm, in their original blue J. Piery Marseille presentation box, dating to the 1950s to 1960s.
Description from the seller
Pair of Art Deco napkin rings in solid silver 1st title Silver 950 — with original box J. Piery Marseille
Description:
A very elegant pair of antique napkin rings in solid silver 950, forming a charming duo “Monsieur” and “Madame,” presented in their original blue box from J. Piery, gift specialist, 50 La Canebière in Marseille.
Each napkin ring features a beautiful dynamic form, with slightly faceted, subtly undulating sides, and a geometric decoration engraved in the typical Art Deco spirit: checkered motifs, hammered areas, and stylized inscriptions MONSIEUR and MADAME. The whole has a lot of character, at once refined, intimate, and highly decorative, ideal for an elegant table or a romantic dinner.
The original box bears an inner label stating “1er titre,” corresponding to high-purity French silver. The rings also show visible hallmarks, including a title mark.
Beautiful antique patina on the silver, with typical signs of use, micro-scratches, and light oxidation consistent with the object’s age. The box itself shows signs of use, wear, and small scuffs but remains very decorative and adds real charm and authenticity to the ensemble.
A very fine old table object, rare as a matched Monsieur / Madame pair, perfect for a collector, a lover of table arts, a wedding gift, a couple’s anniversary, or refined table decoration.
