Antique desktop inkwell with integrated letter carrier in Neobaroque/Rococo style
Splendid and imposing antique desk piece, dating from the late 19th century or the early 20th century (the Eclecticism period).
The piece is made of solid bronze cast (or heavy brass) and features rich, detailed repoussé and pierced work.
Decorative and design elements:
Iconography of putti: the vertical structure of the letter carrier is adorned with three winged putti (cherubs) in relief.
Ornamental motifs:
The entire surface is dominated by an elegant repertoire of decorative scrolls, garlands, shell motifs and acanthus leaves.
Condition:
On the sides are the two original inkwells with domed hinged lids, perfectly functioning.
Inside the inkwells are still present the inner removable containers in light metal.
Excellent overall vintage condition.
The piece has no breaks, cracks, or missing parts.
