Description from the seller
Beautiful burl walnut veneered console, Italian period, mid-19th century. Carlo X period in overall good condition. This piece is an antique console dating back to the 19th century. The style strongly recalls the Carlo X period (typical of Italian furniture in the first half of the nineteenth century).
Materials: The frame is made of walnut burl veneer, characterized by the typical flame-figured grain. The top is in dark marble (often Bardiglio gray marble or Saint Anne).
Design: It features the classic S-shaped or volute supports and a shaped base resting on carved lion-paw feet, a detail typical of high-quality cabinetmaking of the era.
Function: It was used as a parlor or entryway display piece, often topped with a large coordinating mirror.
Shipping is trackable and insured; please note that due to the marble weight, shipping may be more expensive. If preferred, I am available for pickup at the premises.
Attached is an appraisal by the renowned antique expert registered with the court registry, Mr. Marco Zaia.
