Description from the seller
Portable Folding, Model No. 2, Gloria Typewriter, 1914, Germany, Seidel & Naumann.
This machine is extremely rare as it is a very limited-edition of the 'Erika' series.
I am selling it as a decorative/display item since it does not work. Even though with some replaceable parts adapted from Erika it could easily be put back into operation.
Made in Saxony, Germany. Folding. Three-row keyboard of eleven letters per row.
This is an elegant folding Gloria typewriter from 1914. It was produced by the famous German maker of racing machines, bicycles, and typewriters, Seidel & Naumann, in Dresden. This model was produced and known in Germany under the name "Erika," named after the founder's only granddaughter. Seidel & Naumann exported this model to England and France, where it was known as "Bijou" and "Gloria." The Gloria typewriter has preserved all its functions, including the gold decals "SN" and "Gloria," testifying to the quality with which it was built, considering that it is over a hundred years old. All mechanisms and keys work. Some parts are missing, for example the ribbon mechanism. There are slight signs of age and use, which is entirely natural for a machine this old.
